NORTH – Our Road-Trip to Scotland
Part two: Highlands and Skye

Fifth stage: Laggan in the Highlands
We spent the next two days with dear friends in a wonderful lodge in Laggan. I don’t know how old the house really is, but it looks like a noble relic from Victorian times.
We haven’t seen our friends for a long time, the last time we were there was in 2018, but back then it was already great to hike in the area with Jesse. This time we took a trip to a secret waterfall and I had a dip in 13 degree water. It was a lovely and stage, and we promised that we would see each other again later. We continued on to Skye, the first real camping experience of the trip.

Sixth stage: Laggan — Skye
Last morning in Laggan and then over to the Isle of Skye in the best travelling weather. We ended up at the Kinloch Campsite and Malte, Jesse and I enjoyed a very relaxed evening with the Volvo camper.

Seventh stage: A rainy day on the Isle of Skye
When you travel to Scotland, it’s only natural that it will rain. But this day in Kinloch was really tough. Everything got soaking wet and that wasn’t such a big problem at first. We still had to go out with the dog and passed the time in a café and hiking. The real problem came the next morning – Ruby wouldn’t start. What a shock! We had to catch our ferry to Harris!
